Húsdyragardurinn is a place for all ages. A natural environment in which both citizens of Reykjavík and visitors can spend a day enjoying and learning about the native species that inhabit Iceland. A brand on a constant rise that aims to become one of the most visited places in the capital of Iceland.

Unique species in the heart of Reykjavík

Iceland is a reference wordlwide for nature tourism. Thousands of tourists flock to wonder at its landscapes, volcanoes, springs and its flora and fauna. The capital, Reykjavík, is in the process of launching a number of spaces and opportunities for both its inhabitants and for tourists to discover from inside the very heart of the city the country's fascinating biodiversity.

 

An authentic ecosystem

Creating a functioning brand is a very serious task, even when we're aiming to inspire freedom and fun. The composition of the logo is based on a typography of unique and clean calligraphic features, adjusted with precision to enhance its personality and recognisability. The use of black as the base colour underlines the apparent simplicity of the logo.

Conveying sensitivity and respect through one's visual identity

So what role did INNN have to play in all of this? We were given the task of developing the park's brand strategy and design. When coming up with the visual identity, we toyed with the idea of joining two of the brand's most important elements together and strengthen the unique character of its value proposal:

  • Native species to Iceland
  • The map of the island

Moreover, we decided to add the tagline "Zoo & Park" to underline the denotative nature of the brand, which is to draw the public's attention to the characters of the product: its nature and identity.

For young and old

The Húsdyragardurinn park is one of the most attractive spaces in all of Iceland for children. On top of underlining the differential aspects of the location and its roots with nature, the new brand image and the entire series of pictograms and graphics had to transmit a young personality, fresh, fun and educational, and had to become an active part of one's experience of the park.

And also digitial

Once we'd designed the brand and corporate identity, we started working on transporting this universe to a digital environment using dynamic content broadcasted within the park on a system of interconnected screens, as if it were a website in constant growth and integrated within the information systems of the park itself.
